Embedded Systems Engineer

Introduction:

Radio Design Ltd. is a world leader in the design and manufacture of a wide range of wireless infrastructure products for mobile phone operators and OEMs. We are primarily based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire and also have sites in China and India to support global markets.

Due to increasing demand for our products, we have an opportunity for an embedded systems engineer to join the engineering team. The role will suit an engineer who is equally at home designing electronics hardware and writing embedded software. You need to have a practical, hands-on approach and be able to liaise across a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

Ideally, you will have a proven track record, working in a similar role. However, applications are also welcome from more recent graduates who can show a strong aptitude for the role.

Key Aspects of Role:

• Design and coding of software for embedded platforms using C / C++
• Design of mixed signal electronic circuits, involving microcontrollers, serial bus peripherals, analogue to digital interface, power supply
• Schematic capture and PCB layout using CAD tools
• Programming using scripting languages, e.g. Python, Java
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including fluency in English
• Design responsibility from specification through to volume production

Qualifications:

Minimum: upper 2nd class honours degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline.

Salary: £23,000 - £32,000 + Free gym, company pension, 25 holidays
