Systems Consultant – Design and Automation

Vichag is one of UK’s rapidly growing Business consulting companies specialising in providing consulting and business solutions to Industry and public sector enterprises across UK.

Currently we are looking for an experienced Systems Consultant - Design and Automation specialising in complex IT applications and solutions primarily for Energy and Utilities domain.

Key Responsibilities 

• To modify & develop logic programs & mimic screen on SCADA platform (programming using VB and .Net) & migrating data from disparate platforms through PLC & automation equipments
• To design Digital Control Systems, Programmable Logic controllers, SCADA, HMI & 3rd party device integration using protocols like MODBUS Serial - RS232 & RS485, MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850 & Profibus
• Knowledgeable on various software testing methodologies such as Agile scrum, Agile BDD
• To be familiar with automation scripts using Java and .Net
• To manage smooth implementation & testing of the system at the client location.
• To be responsible for the up-gradation of legacy systems
• To engage with third party device integration
• To advise to the clients on best practices on Automation and digitisation
• To design and develop centre of excellence for IT solutions in the space of Automation and digital architecture
• To be proficient in  Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model

 Essential Experience

• Programming Languages: Ladder Diagrams (LD) & Function Block Diagrams (FBD) for PLC Programming, Programming of SCADA using VB and .Net
• Protocols: MODBUS RTU on RS 232/485, MODBUS TCP/IP over 10/100 BaseT
• Commissioning: PLC, SCADA, HMI & process Instruments
• Protocol Converter (MODBUS RTU on RS 232/485 to MODBUS TCP/IP) for third party device integration with Serial Communication Interface
• Centralised Control Room, MIMIC Panel Setup & Commissioning

 Skill Sets Required

• System architecture design from Customer Specification.
• Expertise on Centralized Control Room, MIMIC Panel Setup & Commissioning.
• Programming languages Java and C#
• System Architecture Design from Customer Specification.
• Good experience in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Windows Operating systems
• Able to lead the team in all end to end activities of the project 
• Candidate should have proven communication (written and verbal) and client engagement skills
• Candidate should be ready to deliver high quality outputs in stringent timelines.

Education Level / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Preferred – Master’s Degree.

Travel - Occasionally within UK and abroad.
