Are you an experienced SENCO seeking an exciting opportunity for an immediate change?

A vibrant Secondary School in the London Borough of Greenwich, South East London , is looking for a SENCO to join their team for an immediate start. Starting ideally from April 2017 we are working with a school in Greenwich who are looking for a SENCO. This permenant position is four days a week Monday - Thursday.

Known for academic excellence with unrelenting determination for everyone to achieve outstanding results, the ideal candidate will be able contribute to the effective leadership of the school alongside promoting, monitoring and supporting student learning and be responsible for the progress of students with Special Educational Needs.

Students are encouraged and enabled to be ambitious in everything they do. National exam results are improving rapidly and the progress their students make in English and Maths is faster than the national average. The majority of their Sixth Form students go on to study at a range of universities including the prestigious Russell Group. The school excels with their vocational courses in Engineering and Sports.

The school is set in over 9 acres of land situated in the heart of the London Borough of Greenwich, investment is key in the development of the childrens and staff well-being enhanced by the construction of a new state-of-the-art £2.6 million Sports Centre, which includes a full-size indoor Sports Hall as well as a Dance Studio and Fitness Studio.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has

  • Has the ability to lead the strategic development of SEND policy and provision in-line with current legislation.
  • Has the ability to lead, motivate and inspire the Learning Support department including teachers, support staff and external agencies.
  • Can continue to develop an exciting and challenging curriculum targeted at students who have difficulty accessing mainstream school.
  • Should also be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to lead by example.
  • Can analyse and interpret data and use this to establish tailored intervention strategies.
