Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a HWRC Site Assistant to join our team in Somerset, working 40 hours a week over 5 days.


HWRC Site Assistant responsibilities:
  • Segregation of waste to maximise the amounts that can be recycled.
  • Assisting members of the public and other site users to deposit and segregate their waste in a professional Manner.
  • Educating all site users in the safe and effective use of the Recycling Centre.
  • Performing basic maintenance duties to site equipment and facilities.
  • Ensuring that the site is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • If required, and the site Manager is away, you may be expected to carry out site inductions with contractor, and complete the relevant paper work. 
  • If you operate or, look after any plant / machinery, you will be responsible for completing defect report sheets, and report any damage to your line manager.
  • Responsibility for taking monies for chargeable commodities, and complete the relevant paperwork in the correct format.
  • Helping as part of the team, to achieve, and maintain realistic recycling targets for the site.
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety legislation requirements are met.
  • A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work at weekends and bank holidays (with rest days on week days).

The ideal HWRC Site Assistant:
  • General knowledge of waste recycling.
  • Basic knowledge of construction works and site maintenance e.g. minor repairs to sites.
  • Customer service skills – ability and willingness to assist members of the public and other site users in a professional Manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Full Driving Licence.
In return for this Site Assistant position, we can offer a basic salary of £13,915 - £15,000 plus benefits and an attractive benefits package.
