Duties and Responsibilities
- Representing the engineering department at the customer and product feasibility meetings,
- Design, development of tooling for the honing industry,
- Design of tools, fixtures and machine tool parts, from initial concept to manufacture,
- Investigating operational problems affecting production,
- Creating costing models for the sales team for new business,
- Introducing efficient methods of product manufacture,Improve
- existing product designs for leaner manufacture,
Skills & Specifications:
- Work in a team, showing own initiative, be adaptive and have a willingness to learn,
- Knowledge of international drawing standards,
- Showing detail to work at all times,
- Interpret and produce mechanical drawings
- Able to work to deadlines,
- Problem solve
- Good verbal and communication skills,
Experience & Qualifications:
- Certified Diploma in Mechanical engineering/Apprenticeship in manufacturing engineering,
- 3D CAD Design (preferably Solid Works),
- Tool, jig and fixture design
- Manufacturing materials & processes
- MS Office Competent
- ISO 9001 Quality System understanding
- Implementation and development of new production processes
