Online Sales Advisor & Operations Assistant

Mesh Direct is one of the UK's leading online suppliers of wire mesh and fencing products. We are looking for a bright and confident person to join our sales and operations team on a full-time basis. Located in Stoke-on-Trent, our company has been family run since 1952. As such, we have a wealth of retail knowledge, including over 15 years of e-commerce experience.

We believe that this position is unique as we are offering a friendly, small company atmosphere, combined with high level work at the top end of our market.

There are many aspects to the role, however some of the key elements include:

•     Taking incoming sales calls from customers, and processing orders over the phone;
•     Advising customers, and responding to enquiries over the phone and by e-mail;
•     Calculating and drafting formal quotations;
•     Accurate data entry of address and contact details into our logistics system;
•     Managing the logistics process;
•     Placing orders with suppliers;
•     Producing Sage invoices.

The essential skills we require from a candidate include:

•     A high level of confidence when using the phone, with a well-spoken and professional telephone manner;
•     The ability to draft well worded, precise e-mails with accurate spelling and grammar;
•     A high level of attention to detail, with a methodical approach to working;
•     Excellent computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word / Outlook;
•     An enthusiastic, positive personality;
•     The ability to learn new tasks quickly;
•     A flair for sales, combined with commercial acumen.

Education requirements:

We require a candidate with excellent numeracy and English language skills, who can demonstrate a history of high achievement. Therefore, the role would be best suited to someone with strong A-level results or a degree.

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
