Supply Chain Manager, Grimsby, Food Manufacturing

We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager on behalf of a leading Food Manufacturer based in the Grimsby, Humberside / Lincolnshire area.

The Role:

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for strategic procurement, physical distribution of finished goods and the customer services function with the aim of delivering excellent customer service at the lowest operational cost. They will also be responsible for:

  • Effective management of all contractual arrangements for the associated third party outside storage and distribution of product and activity
  • Ensuring an effective and responsive customer services operation to capture and process retailer orders in line with product availability
  • Delivering an effective procurement strategy for the business monitoring supplier performance at site, raising issues directly with the Central procurement team, managing supplier innovation and supporting with the implementation of value engineering local projects
  • Supporting site materials scheduling in the planning process.
  • Managing and developing the supply chain personnel in order that best practice is achieved under flexible working arrangements
  • Ongoing liaison with our retail customers supply chain, logistics and commercial contacts in order to respond appropriately to retailer requests and logistics initiatives
  • Ongoing liaison and involvement with appropriate business departments/ functions on any issue impacting upon the businesses supply chain operation
  • Budgetary responsibility for all of the above including associated administrative tasks such as month end reserves, annual spend indications & capital expenditure justification
  • Responsible for stock obsolescence.

The Ideal Candidate:

They are looking for applications from supply chain professionals who have experience of working within multi million pound turnover manufacturing organisations producing multiple SKU's. We are also looking for individuals with:

  • Good planning and organising skills
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience of a fast paced FMCG environment
