The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £18,048 - £20,111 per annum plus benefits package.

About the Construction Technician role

We are seeking a self-motivated and confident individual to support activities within our busy Electrical Installations workshops.

As our successful Construction Technician, you will find there are a variety of tasks to be undertaken each day. Preparation of workshop areas and resources is key to our students learning, and you will be able to work on your own initiative to ensure tools and materials are in the right place at the right time for practical sessions and demonstrations. Working alongside teaching colleagues you will be key to the smooth running of practical classes.

You will also maintain the workshops, classrooms and associated equipment/areas to ensure a clean and safe working environment for the students and staff.

What we’re looking for in our Construction Technician

You will need to be vocationally qualified to at least Level 2 in Electrical Installations, and be able to demonstrate in-depth subject knowledge. You should have experience of working within a relevant construction role/environment and also have the ability to carry out a variety of construction or engineering related tasks, repairs to tools, plant and equipment.

Experience of a similar role within further education would be advantageous, although full training will be given.
