Site Chemist

We have a new exciting opportunity! At RED Industries we are currently looking for a Site Chemist to join our operations department based in Stoke-On-Trent on a full time, permanent basis. This role will involve a 3 rotation shift system and the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent on experience plus overtime, shift allowance and a workplace pension scheme.

About the Site Chemist role

You will join our expanding waste management team and develop your professional skills in hazardous and non-hazardous waste management. You will receive, conformance check, label and complete associated paperwork within scope of the acceptance, storage and despatch of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.

Experience & Qualifications required of our Site Chemist

- HND or higher in Chemistry or related subject

- Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck license - desirable

- Health and safety training, for example IOSH - desirable

Hazardous waste industry experience including:

- Sampling and checking of containerised waste (drum reception)

- Checking and completion of incoming and outgoing waste paperwork

- Preparation of waste labels for incoming and outgoing wastes

What we’re looking for in our Site Chemist

- Computer literate with fluency in all Microsoft applications

- Ability to communicate well with others

- Comfortable working within a team and contributing to its success

- Comfortable working on your own using your own initiative

- Work logically and make reasoned decisions based on experience and objective information
