Our client is recruiting for a Part Time Community Support Worker for the outreach service in Trafford. You will support children in the community who have complex needs, challenging behaviour, learning and physical disabilities and autism. Working with the Trust and parents/guardians of the child you will organise respite on a weekly basis, supporting the child out in the community or at home. You will build up a trusting relationship with your service user supporting them in interested lead activities and giving valuable life skills.

Depending on the child's interest, activities could include; Bike Riding, Sports, Cinema, Outdoors, games etc. The majority of hours will be after school, weekends and holidays.

Your main responsibilities will include;

• Encouraging and involving your residents in day to day activities, participating in service users’ chosen activities and enhancing community networks.

• Supporting with Risk Assessments

• Supporting on interest lead activities.

• To handle challenging behaviour in the correct way ensuring safeguarding at all times.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is studying within health and social care, teaching or similar, or a support worker looking for reduced hours. They have 16 -32 hours a week available.
