Senior Estimator- Building 
Southampton 
Salary upto £75,000 + Car /Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension 
 
Senior Estimator required for a national main contractor. This is an opportunity for someone to join an established construction business that operates within the built environment you will have an excellent track record in tendering for and winning building projects up to a value of £15 million.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for:

Review tender and quotation enquiries received from clients and evaluate them to maximise the overall opportunity for the company including highlighting any risk.

Produce detailed bills of quantities from tender documents, site surveys and drawings. 
Obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors & suppliers to prepare detailed financial estimates. 
Prepare and finalise tender reports for adjudication of completed tenders and quotations. 
Co-operate with the Business Development team to ensure that tenders are submitted in a timely fashion and to a high standard of presentation. 
Carry out post-tender negotiations and finalise potential orders with clients. 
On successful bids, attend a meeting with the Contract Manager and present handover packs with appropriate documentation (including a full financial break down) 
Assist the Business Development team with potential enquiries. 
 
About the Company/Client/Project: 
This opportunity is with a busy Hampshire based regional office of this medium sized main contractor with a proven track record in the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects in in the Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire, Surrey areas, dominantly education, healthcare, commercial, industrial and MOD. 
 
This office turns over roughly £20m, with projects ranging from £5m to £15m. 
There is a clear business plan to expand this, both in terms of turnover and geographical area, so this role will play a key role in the business moving forward. 

Proven track record of 5-10+ years of work in a similar position would be advantageous. 

Required qualifications 
HNC or Degree qualified in a relevant discipline 
 
Required experience 
A proven track record in the preparation of competitive quotations with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and detailed working knowledge of a computer based estimating system.
