The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in being able to effectively work with ASD children within a primary or secondary setting and demonstrate effective ways of working with pupils to raise their attainment and consistently increase their enthusiasm for learning.
Successful SEND support staff must be:
- Qualified with a minimum of a level three childcare related qualification
- Experienced in working within an SEND setting, particularly autism
- Resilient and able to overcome difficult situations
- Confident interacting with a wide range of personalities
- Able to work independently and confidently with children and young people of all ages
- Able to use their initiative and take on additional responsibilities as and when necessary
- Reliable and able to commit to between 1-5 days' work per week
- A personable and caring individual who is committed to providing excellence to children in their care
