Receptionist (Medical)
Reading, RG2
£8.00 p/h
37.5 hours per week (some late evenings until 8 pm and weekends on a rota basis)

Our client has identified an excellent opportunity for a Medical Receptionist to join their large GP
practice in Reading, to ensure that the reception function of the Practice runs smoothly and continues
to provide a high level of service to patients and Doctors alike.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Receptionist, as Medical Receptionist your daily responsibilities will include an
array of tasks including;
• Managing telephone enquiries including making appointments/cancellations for patients and administering results in a confidential manner
• Front of house duties including, meeting and greeting patients and visitors, registering of new patients, handing out prescriptions and dealing with general enquiries/complaints
• General housekeeping, ensuring waiting area is presentable and comfortable at all times,
• Sorting/distribution of post, scanning and typing of patients documents

Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have the relevant skills and experience to undertake this position, including;
Experience within a similar administrative role within a medical environment is desirable but
not essential as full training will be provided if required:
• Good standard of education and GCSE in Maths & English is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal is essential
• Polite, empathetic, well presented and organised individual is essential
• Working knowledge of EMIS is desirable
