Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex

Salary: Up to £30,000

The company is a leading security, logistics and business services provider with more than 3,000 employees. They deliver bespoke solutions that enable clients to focus on achieving their core business objectives.

The company is looking for an HR Advisor on a 12 month fixed term contract to provide proactive and professional generalist HR support and advice to a group of managers across a portfolio of client accounts. You will be working closely with HR team and Employee relations Managers to provide a consistent approach.

Your principle responsibilities will be:

  • To provide timely and accurate business focussed advice to management teams on Company policy and procedure which assists them in providing a more effective service to our customers.
  • To support HR management team by reporting on trends and challenge sector management on working practices, processes and team performance.
  • To coach and advise the divisional management teams in employee relations and industrial relations issues as they arise, providing suggestions and remedies to minimise and manage people related risk
  • To support the delivery of HR related development workshops and assist managers in identifying training needs through the process of employee relations support, and addressing accordingly.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with Employee Relations, Resourcing, and L&D Teams.
  • To initiate and lead employee engagement
  • To support project mobilisations with dedicated HR expertise
  • To act as an ambassador for Wilson James attending customer meetings if required
  • To support HR team and senior operational managers with managing change within the organisation.
  • To support HR team and all grades of managers to conduct the annual review and competency assessments
  • Writing and managing correspondence to employees.
  • Sourcing and reporting on data
  • Preparing documentation and taking ownership for variety of employee engagements
  • To support areas of HR such as:

  • Investigations and disciplinary procedures
  • Grievance Procedures
  • Redundancy Management
  • Absence Management
  • Performance Management
  • Right to Work and Screening
  • TUPE transfers

  • The Candidate:

    Candidates will need a strong generalist/Employee relations background at officer/advisor level as well as excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, the wider HR team and stakeholders. You will also need a solid understanding of Employment Law.
