Position: Purchasing Assistant
Salary: ??18,000 - ??22,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
Location: Bristol (BS15)
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 Mon to Thurs // 08:00 - 16:30 Fri
Benefits: Overtime, bonus scheme, 22 days' holiday + BH (with an annual increase scheme), company pension scheme, private medical insurance after qualifying period.

The Company:
Our client specialise in the manufacture of hi?tech special purpose machines. We supply to a wide range of industries in particular manufacturers of automotive and aeronautical components. Our products are manufactured at our site in Bristol and are distributed worldwide, with our main markets being the UK, Europe, USA and Mexico. Our client is a part of a global group with 31 worldwide locations and employing 1200 people throughout the organisation.
The Position:
Due to continued growth we are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Bristol office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of purchasing related duties to ensure that production operates at its optimum level. We are looking for a well?organised person with a positive 'can do' attitude who is flexible and can work alone or as part of a team.
Key Skills and Required Experience:
- Experience of SAP would be preferred
- Experience or knowledge of dealing with shipping of goods (UK and abroad) would be preferred
- Ability to deal with suppliers and build up a good working relationship with these suppliers
- IT literate
- Good administration and communication skills
- Previous experience working in a similar purchasing or purchase admin role is preferred
General Overview of Responsibilities:
- Progress of outstanding purchase orders and contacting suppliers for delivery dates
- General assistance with purchasing duties
- Goods in including some forklift truck use
- Booking in stock and distribution of stock to relevant projects
- Stock management and production order picking
- Administration and packing for shipping goods (domestic and international)
