We are seeking four Visitor Services Assistants to deliver a first class visitor experience at the Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury. The Museum is undergoing a £2.4 million re-development which is due to be completed by spring 2017. The project will create new learning and visitor facilities and refurbish the gallery displays throughout the site.
Working with the Visitor Services Manager and Assistant Visitor Services Manager, the post holders will be responsible for providing the highest standards of customer care – welcoming visitors to the museum, assisting with the security, maintenance and cleanliness of the site, assisting with events and helping with the museum shop.
A basic awareness of health and safety and premises issues is required, and you must be confident and comfortable with using computers and other technical equipment (e.g. tills).
You should also have a genuine enthusiasm about Somerset’s history and heritage, and be keen to share this to inform and inspire our visitors.
Maximum flexibility, and the ability to work additional hours/overtime, sometimes at short notice, is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Somerset Rural Life Museum team as it gears up for opening in spring 2017.
The South West Heritage Trust is a new charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon.
