Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer, Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Specialists in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Starting salary £17,000 dependant on experience

The Company:

The Company was established in 1983 to provide the full spectrum of services covering the design, implementation, interpretation and evaluation of geotechnical and contaminated land site investigations. We work in a wide variety of sectors including the utilities, industrial and commercial, education new build, highways and rail infrastructure, contaminated land redevelopment, onshore and offshore energy and environmental sectors.  Our head office and laboratory are based in Coventry, with additional offices in Exeter, Chester and Yorkshire.

We are now looking for an Engineering Geologist to help provide support to a team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists working in a range of industrial settings.

Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer Main Duties:

  • Fieldwork supervision of site investigations, including soil and rock logging.
  • Production of factual reports.
  • Development of project management skills in order to work towards the responsibility of planning, supervision and programming of site investigation projects.

Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Confident and knowledgeable in various site investigation techniques.
  • Computer literate, including competency in using Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Awareness of data presentation and report compilation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
  • Preferred completion of health and safety training schemes such as CSCS, SSSTS, CDM 2007 Regulations etc.
  • Preferred PTS certified, or willingness to become PTS certified.
  • Some awareness of relevant ground investigation specifications, procedures, techniques and British Standards.
  • Educated to degree level in a geological/ geotechnical discipline.
