IT Support Technician

The successful IT Support Technician will receive a salary of up to £28,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Evolution Money is looking for an IT Support Technician, this is an office based supporting internal end users, several remote workers and external API service users. You will be required to work with software, hardware and service suppliers via telephone and their respective service-desk systems to report and resolve issues.

The IT Support Technician Role:

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager and working as part of a small team, you will possess strong analytical and diagnostic skills and a pro-active approach to work. The role will cover all technical issues and end user support on a single site and be responsible for maintaining a reliable infrastructure service.

You must be flexible to cover operational hours and weekend work when required and take pride in seeing projects through to completion.

This position would be ideal for someone working in a 2nd line role, looking to develop their skills and take on more responsibility. 

Your responsibilities:

- Assessing incoming incidents and prioritising work to agreed timescales and processes.

- Logging all incidents and requests on the Service Desk Management system.

- Taking ownership of user problems and being proactive when dealing with user issues.

- Ensuring resolution of reported issues.

- Planning and implementation of new hardware and software releases.

- Providing summary activity reports to management.

- Identifying where technology can improve business processes and efficiencies.

- Development of documentation of known errors allowing for increased “first time fix” for 1st Line.

- Training users where required

Our ideal IT Support Technician:

- Previous experience working in a IT support environment via telephone/remote or on site

- Extensive active directory knowledge

- Experience working with Office 365

- Experience with hardware maintenance – Servers, PCs, printers, networking hardware etc.

- Experience with server and desktop operating systems, email and other desktop applications.

- LAN and network experience – Cisco and HP

- Working knowledge in virtualisation technologies (VMWare/HyperV)

- Strong communication skills both verbal and written

Desirable Experience:

- SQL Server and Database administration

- Cloud services – Public/Private

- Exposure to various Backup/Restore tools
