We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 21,400 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.

Leicester College has two Day Nurseries offering a total of 83 places which provide high quality and inclusive integrated care and education to the children of students and employees of the College. This position is based at Abbey Park Campus to cover Maternity Leave.

You will be responsible for creating a stimulating and caring environment for the children within our multi-cultural setting.  You must demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with experience of implementing it in an early years setting.  You should be able to observe, plan, monitor, assess and support individual children's learning and development and maintain records of progress.

You will be a good communicator who is highly motivated and enthusiastic with extensive experience of working with young children in partnership with their parents. You must have a recognised childcare qualification at Level 3 or above and evidence of commitment to continuous professional improvement. You will also have a GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

You will occasionally be responsible for unlocking and locking the nursery.
