Connect - Project Manager / Associate Director, 9 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Ipsos Connect is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join us on one of our most important long term studies, run from the Harrow office. We interview over 40,000 children and their parents each year in around 15 countries, asking them everything about the characters, channels and programmes they most like to engage with, and how. We also find out a wealth of detail about them personally; their interests, hobbies, screen time and more. The project has a sizeable team in place, but it is logistically challenging; we are looking for someone who can deliver on all stages of the project delivery while co-ordinating with the various operations teams and our internal team to keep the project moving on schedule and without error.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Management Best Practice


Lead the Project Management of an EMEA wide tracking project that delivers around 500 individual outputs to our client three times a year.
The role is client facing, though ultimate responsibility for the success of the study rests with the Project Director.
Act as an expert in best practice for project execution and design, including sharing learning and building capability across the team, as well as providing on-going advice and support for the junior members of the team
Lead relationships with internal operations teams and external suppliers to ensure ongoing improvements in quality and efficiency.
Ensure smooth, timely, error free delivery of all project outputs


People and Team Leadership


Responsible for co-ordinating and organising a team a varying sizes depending on the stage the project is at, at the time. The team working with you can be as small as 2 or as large as 10. The delivery stage of a wave is typically where the team is at its largest.
Line management responsibilities will also be offered, typically of team members at the Research Executive (RE) or Trainee RE level.
Management of workflows and allocation of resource
Perform a coaching and mentoring role within the project team
Ability to motivate, coach and develop others, whilst working under pressure and to tight deadlines


Skills and Experience Required:


Have degree level qualification
Have strong quantitative research experience across a range of methodologies and markets
Track record with large international tracking studies preferred but not essential
Ability to respond quickly and constructively to problems as they arise
Experience with survey reporter preferred but not essential
Be able to build strong relationships with internal teams - both account teams and operational teams - as well as clients
Constructively challenge the status quo and have positive ideas for improvement
Display drive, energy and initiative
Be proactive and resourceful
Demonstrate the ability to develop, coach and motivate others
Use a wide variety of approaches to communicate and influence according to the needs of the situation and individuals
