This award winning company are looking for an experienced Embedded C/C++ Software Engineer / Firmware Engineer to work on Product Development of Wireless Control Technologies, developing an internationally deployed remote monitoring system via Networks & Radio.

The Embedded Software Engineer would be applying standard SDLC processes to all aspects of delivered code, working closely with the support team to debug and diagnose site issues, use source control to ensure shared, developed code is stored and maintained in a professional manner, use of standard equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes and logic analysers) to tease out faults in new or existing development.

As a Firmware Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer, you will have commercial Software Development experience using C, with standard embedded development tools and implementing Embedded Real-Time Systems, be familiar with Electronics and fault finding equipment. You should have full Software Product Lifecycle experience developing Products from concept to Production. The Embedded Software Engineer will have multidisciplinary skills and produce "Quality" Software that is correct, portable, robust and maintainable. You should ideally have Embedded Software Design experience for mass production, large production runs or high volume manufacture.

The equipment uses a broad range of communication technologies including ZigBee, Bluetooth, UHF ISM bands, GSM, GPRS, TCP/IP etc. Development is currently entirely 'C' based using modern compilers, but this does not preclude the use of other languages and technologies. Candidates should ideally be conversant with wireless protocols such as ZigBee, though not essential.

The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplined team which include embedded software engineers, hardware engineers and web application developers. Data produced by the systems is presented to end users for further analysis and to aid in the running of large networks, as such the data must be delivered in a timely manner and be reliable.

Candidates will have the ability to architect/design as well as implement a specification. Experience of developing for mobile devices / mobile networks / wired and wireless sensor networks is a bonus. The ideal candidate needs to be disciplined, self-reliant and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, manage their own workload and balance priorities.

Excellent Career opportunities in an award winning, growing and stable organisation. The organisation can offer technically challenging, varied project work, on-going training and flexible working.
