Our client is looking to recruit a Systems Development (Electrical) Engineer into their Process Team to strengthen their market offering.

The Role
Systems Engineer (Electrical)
This role covers specialist electrical support to:
* The specification and development of new drives, control and measurement systems
* The enhancement of legacy systems;
* Maintaining overall current capability of legacy systems

Maintaining a thorough understanding of the design, implementation and operation of those systems, and taking an active involvement in developing a long term plan for their enhancement, will be a key task for the successful applicant.

The Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who relishes the opportunity to see a project through from initial concepts to final implementation; who is able to take leading roles in multi-functional teams; but who is also able to deliver small projects on their own.

You will typically be able to design, develop, implement and verify your own systems solutions to bespoke applications, using sound engineering methodology to manage risk and technical progress against the project plan. You will also be comfortable working with legacy systems and reverse engineering where necessary, to model, adapt and document system design and implementation.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this role with the ability to work at all levels within the business, on technically challenging activities to deliver solutions within tight timescales, specific quality standards and budgetary constraints.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
* STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
* Industrial or scientific experience in a relevant technical role.
* Professional Engineering Status would be an advantage.
* Experience of high power electrical systems (motors, inverters, power distribution, etc.) and relevant standards.
* Automation and health monitoring of plant.
* Communication protocols, control cabinet design, PLCs
* Good technical management skills and highly organised.

The successful candidate must satisfy security clearance requirements (including 5 years UK residency).
