We are looking for an Engineering Director - New Product Development to take provide strategic leadership and vision to a talented, multidisciplinary R&D team developing and taking to market specialist instrumentation products. The role has become available as a result of internal promotion.

Based in the green and picturesque county of Kent, the company has global presence and a very strong reputation in the market. It has been built up by acquisition and organic growth over the last 40 years and the goal is to continue this under the same ownership for the long term.

As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for shaping the business strategy, working closely with Sales & Marketing Director. You will also be shaping New Product Development processes and driving best practice in NDP.
You will play a crucial role in forming and negotiating external development contracts, as well as building partnerships with universities and research organisations. As an inspiring leader, one of your priorities will be building and developing world class development teams - recruiting excellent people and enabling them to achieve their potential.

What we are looking for:

- Honours Degree (min 2.1) or above in Elect/Electronic Engineering or related subject.
-At least 10 years experience in senior management of Full Life Cycle Electrical/ Electronic product development for medium scale manufacturing.
- Excellent Project Management skills and awareness
- Strong work ethic setting high standards of self and team
- Significant experience of stage-gate development processes
- Significant experience in electrical product Compliance, LVD, EMC
- Strong leadership ability and charisma
- Excellent communicator at all levels
