Due to recent investment, an automotive consultancy are looking for a proven Calibration Engineer to join them and help build their calibration capabilities at their facility in Bedfordshire. The client offers engineering consultancy and turn-key solutions to the automotive OEM market and are looking to increase their workforce due to continued success and a thriving marketplace. As a Calibration Engineer there won't be two days the same. Currently a small team, the successful candidate will be responsible for growing the team over the next few years from 2-3 engineers to 9-10.

You will be responsible for technically leading customer calibration and powertrain development programs on primarily gasoline and diesel emissions but could involve alternative fuelled and hybrid powertrain systems. This will involve liaising with OEM customers to capture requirements, provide technical support and create test programmes for engineers to then follow. You will also provide the technical know-how in proposals and quotations, delegating other development work to engineers and technicians working on their own and other test programmes. Aside from that, you will also need to analyse and present the findings back to the customer, offering solutions to meet their goals.

Ideally you will be working within an engineering consultancy, OEM or Tier I supplier environment in a Calibration role working on gasoline, diesel or hybrid powertrain automotive engine programmes.

Role Responsibilities;

" Deliver turn-key calibration development projects for a variety of customers
" Leading Powertrain development projects, for base engines calibration, emissions, fuel economy, performance, climatic testing, etc.

About you;

" Ideally degree qualified in an Engineering discipline; either Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics
" Good knowledge primarily of Bosch EMS's would be beneficial but others would be considered.
" Good knowledge on developing engine management systems and testing techniques
" Experience of calibration of torque based control systems (gasoline and diesel) including emissions and climate development is a must
" Ability to use model based calibration tools including Cameo, MatLab or similar.
" An interest and knowledge of EU emissions legislation.
" Knowledge of on board diagnostics (OBD)
" Hold a current UK Driving Licence
