This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance department at Direct Line Group as a Senior Finance Business Partner specifically covering our change portfolio. This is a permanent opportunity based from our head office in Bromley.
You will lead and manage the Finance Business Partnering team for DLG wide SIP and change, bringing financial challenge and insights to the senior leadership team (SLT), Business MDs and EXCO members.
Within this role you will provide key strategic and financial advice and challenge in order to help ensure optimal business decisions are made and business objectives are met. We are looking for someone who is able to continually challenge and improve the budgeting and forecasting for this area, providing intelligent insight in order to guide key commercial decision making.
Key Accountabilities
- Build strategic relationships and lead business partnering across Personal Lines, Cheif Operating Office, Commercial and head office business areas
- Lead the commercial and financial challenge, and advice to the business through analysis and insight of operating costs, income, indemnity, partner change and commercial contract review , ensuing pro active decision support on SIP and change
- Lead and provide finance leadership and set the strategy for the provision of effective financial performance reporting and strategic insight to support the business in managing the SIP and change costs
- Provide financial leadership, professional advice and expertise to the Business Leadership team and other stakeholders on financials and strategic commercial issues
- Lead the review of Business Cases, Investment Appraisals and Contract Reviews to ensure they are challenged and reviewed appropriately across DLG
- Drive continuous improvement across financial project accounting process for DLG including governance, re charging and capitalisation and depreciation reviews
- To lead the provision of clear analysis/ insights and understanding of the drivers of the underlying SIP activity and drive the strategic commercial business drivers and challenge
- Lead and own the insight and reporting for SIP Cash, Capitalisation and Depreciation impact of projects across DLG reporting to SLT and Exco on a regular basis
- To provide strategic leadership to the team to provide an enhanced business partnering offering- leading and developing the team
Skills we are looking for
- Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Senior Finance Business Partnering experience is essential
- Project experience & awareness is essential
- Commercial awareness with the ability to build strong meaningful relationships at all levels
- Ability to challenge and provide oversight to aid key strategic decision making
- Proven track record of cost management and driving business change
- Insurance experience would be preferable however not essential
