Abatec are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join an international, main contractor to be responsible for the delivery of Rail Engineering projects, focused on the design, build, testing and commissioning of the Building+ Civils and Minor Civils Frameworks.
As the Contracts Engineering Manager you will:
- Ensure adequate survey and ground investigation has been carried out.
- Carry out Assessment and Nominations of discipline CREs for acceptance.
- Recognise the need for involvement of other railway disciplines and the nomination / appointment of discipline engineers as necessary.
- Produce and Manage the Engineering Management Plan including a clear interface plan between the CREs.
- Carry out the full life cycle of Technical Assurance from design through implementation to operation.
- Manage the engineering schedules and deliverables.
- Manage project risks and maintain HAZARD logs, ensuring processes are fully briefed.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Have experience of Design Management in a similar role.
- Be familiar with Design Integration including interdisciplinary checks, BIM and other forms of system modelling.
- Have experience with construction processes for similar Civil Engineering / Rail projects.
- Have experience in problem solving within a rail environment and developing solutions for build.
- Be familiar with Testing & Commissioning processes.
