A newly created position is available within the Supply Chain and Procurement function at SCA Timber Supply UK.
The main objective of the Group Finance Manager is to analyse and control the financial performance of the Supply Chain and Procurement function to maximise the profit of SCA Timber Supply UK.
The Group Finance Manager Role
The successful applicant will be able to have an immediate impact by offering a systematic and methodical approach to analysing the financials within a fast paced Supply Chain and Procurement function. Part of your DNA' as Group Finance Manager will be to provide timely and accurate management information that supports the function and wider business.
As well as managing the buying authorisation levels within the function, you will take full responsibility for the cost base analysis and compiling and managing customer price books.
This Group Finance Manager role is extremely commercial! You will be at the heart of the Supply Chain and Procurement function making recommendations by identifying "make" or "buy" production activities or opportunities that really add to the bottom line.
As with any financial role, you will be analytical and have excellent financial reporting skills to be able to fulfil the requirement of supporting the Supply Chain's rationalisation program. You will assist in the reduction of raw material and production rejects as one of the key parts of this role is to impact our Return on Capital Employed' (ROCE). Various responsibilities will come under your remit (such as monitoring our suppliers in terms of their contracts, rebates and collection of payments) that will enable you to really make a difference.
We would want our Group Finance Manager to have complete visibility of the stock we are buying, holding and distributing (and at what cost) as well as managing accurate and consistent data for raw material supplier OTIF (on time in full').
This role will be fast-paced and very commercial.
The Ideal Group Finance Manager
*Experience of supporting a supply chain function in financial capacity (i.e. Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant).
*Solid financial analysing, accounting and cost controlling experience.
*Advanced Excel knowledge is essential.
*Ideally with a degree in finance or business and/or a professional accountancy qualification.
*An understanding or experience within retail or category management will be an advantage.
*SAP experience would be advantageous.
*A professional, highly influential and motivational character.
*A people driver focussed on results as well as being the policy controller' of all buying and selling.
The Company
SCA Timber Supply UK, a business operation of SCA Timber, comprises of 3 business streams located over 4 sites in Stoke, Welshpool, Cumbernauld and Melton. With a combined manufacturing capability of 150,000m3 and 15,000m3 timber treatment facilities, these streams supply a range of timber and associated products to the UK's Home Improvement and building materials sectors.
SCA Timber is a member of SCA Forest Products who produce paper for packaging and print, pulp, solid-wood products and renewable energy. SCA Forest Products also manages SCA's extensive forest holding, supplies industries with wood raw materials, in addition to offering cost-efficient transport solutions.
The Group Finance Manager package
This position is based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain and Procurement Director, with a dotted line report in to the Finance Director, you will be willing and able to travel to all UK sites (car allowance provided).
SCA offers a competitive salary of up to GBP55,000 per annum plus generous pension contributions of up to 10% and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
