A great opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Controller, this role will see you being an integral member of the Finance Team.
Vivacity is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, with charitable status, managing many of Peterborough's most popular culture and leisure facilities. We provide a myriad of opportunities for people to take part in cultural and leisure activities, including theatre and arts, heritage, libraries and sport. Our major venues include the Key Theatre, Regional Pool and Fitness Centre, the Lido, Vivacity Premier Fitness, Central Library, Flag Fen Archaeology Park and the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery. We are looking to find an ambitious and eager experienced Purchase Ledger Controller to join the team and make a real difference.
Reporting to the Director of Resources, the Purchase Ledger Controller will be responsible for co-ordinating the workload of the purchase ledger team to ensure supplier invoices are coded accurately, approved in accordance with the scheme of delegation and paid on a timely basis. Tasks will also include setting up new supplier accounts and completing monthly supplier reconciliations and liaising with internal departments and suppliers to resolve queries. In addition to this you will be responsible for:
* The month end close of purchase ledger within 3 working days and preparation of purchase ledger month end journals
* Preparation of a weekly and monthly payment run
* The monitoring of the compliance status of self-employed suppliers
* The training of users on Vivacity's Purchase Control Software
* Undertaking regular house-keeping of old purchase orders
* Assisting with the completion of government Central Statistics enquiries
* Supporting and mentoring the purchase ledger team
Your solid and relevant accounts payable experience, exposure to a purchase control environment and understanding of accruals and payments will set you apart. It is expected that the Purchase Ledger Controller will have an excellent handle on Microsoft Office including excel and be educated to GSCE level in English and Maths with experience in Double Entry book keeping. It is also desirable that you will have experience of SAGE.
