Financial Controller
Based in Leatherhead, Surrey/South London borders, some home-working
Paying between GBP45,000 and GBP50,000 depending on experience
A well-established and growing services business is seeking a qualified and hands-on Finance Manager / Financial Controller to lead their finance function located in Leatherhead. The role holder will be able to work from home 2 or 3 days a week.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have broad experience of the finance function covering both management and financial accounting. Whilst the Financial Controller will be supported by a Bookkeeper doing the transactional accounting, this role is an all-encompassing finance role. The candidate must have excellent knowledge and understanding of the SAGE accounting system and be IT literate.
Previous experience in an SME at a senior level would be an advantage.
The candidate will be a proactive self-starter, with good people skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be hands-on but also be able to support the Board of Directors in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
Key areas of responsibility will include:
* Developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with internal and accounting policies/procedures.
* Managing bank accounts and cash flow.
* Involvement with every aspect of our business and provide direction on all commercial matters
* Provide detailed management reports
* Provide financial planning and forecasting with budgetary recommendations
* Prepare operational budgets
* Monitor and report on all expenditure
* Work with our bookkeeper to provide monthly accounts and reports
* Support the Board of Directors in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
To be suitable for this role you MUST:
* Be ACCA/CIMA /ACA qualified with very strong knowledge of UK accounting standards
* Have experience of using the SAGE system (highly desirable)
* Also highly desirable is SME experience
