Candidate Requirements:
- You will be a qualified accountant in ACCA, CIMA or ACA (pre-requisite)
- Background in a manufacturing environment (desirable but not essential)
- Strong IT/reporting skills essential - experience with SQL or Crystal reporting is highly desirable.
Job Description:
We are recruiting for a local organisation that operate from multiple sites within the UK and have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their finance team based in Stoke on Trent.
Duties as follows:
- Preparing Management accounts information, including but not limited to stock valuation reports, accruals and prepayments and overhead analysis, for the site on a timely basis;
- Management of fixed asset registers for each company;
- Preparing control account reconciliations for all major nominal accounts in the Trial Balance;
- Preparing of accounting reports and analysis as required by the Management team and Directors (a good level of excel skills is essential, knowledge of SQL queries is desirable to assist in this type of work);
- Assisting the Finance Director with the preparation of annual budgets for the site;
- Preparation of month end returns regarding invoice discounting facility;
- Management of quarterly invoice discounting facility audits for two companies;
- Assistance with the preparation of payroll of c.125 employees and managing processing of statutory payroll returns and information. In the absence of the accounts assistant in charge of payroll the role will be required to cover the payroll processing;
- Handling of pension administration for companies;
- Preparation of VAT submissions for the Group VAT return on a quarterly basis and also preparation of intra stat information;
- Preparing statutory government returns
- Provision of cover for all other members of the accounts team as and when required.
