Senior:
My client has a team in Kent which consists of three established offices in Canterbury, Maidstone and Folkestone from where our near 70 staff and 8 partners combine the efficiency and excellence of a medium size practice with a personal approach. Our clients comprise of owner-managed businesses, private companies with many shareholders, quoted companies and subsidiaries of international groups.
Our business has been built around the principle of establishing strong relationships with our clients. We have positioned ourselves to be able to provide the full range of high quality services that you would expect from a leading firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers, and deliver these primarily through specialist service line and sector teams.
Responsibilities
?? Solely responsible for smill and mid sized audits, from planning to completion
?? On the most large and complex jobs, assist the Audit Executive in completing the audit
?? To be able (if required) to prepare statutory accounts primarily for companies, also partnerships and sole traders. As well as some LLPs and charities
?? To prepare corporation tax, draft corporation tax returns with XBRL tagged accounts for review by our tax team.
Qualifications, skills and experience
?? Fully qualified ACA or ACCA or studying advanced stage papers
?? Proven experience leading external audits from planning to completion with a range of owner managed businesses
?? Double entry bookkeeping skills
?? Basic tax knowledge - how to prepare corporation tax computations
?? Computer experience - Sage, MS Excel & Word and ideally CaseWare
?? Previous experience of supervising junior members of staff preferable (12-18 months experience)
?? Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards
?? Communication - oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments
?? Organised - ability to deal with a variety of tasks and managing a varied workload
?? Client focused
?? Commercially aware
?? Team building skills
?? Problem solving skills
?? Ability to work well under pressure
?? Be positive and committed in dealings with both clients and staff.

Studying professional stage ACA or ACCA, or AAT full/part qualified and wishing to study professional stage ACA or ACCA - with experience in practice
Or qualified by substantial experience
Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation within a practice environment
Strong double entry knowledge and skill
Ideally a good working knowledge of SAGE, and other IT packages, although training would be available
Basic tax knowledge - how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT
Accuracy
Organisational/time management skills
Communication - good written, verbal and active listening skills
Confident when dealing with clients and getting your views across
Methodical and logical thinking
Use initiative to identify problems and provide solutions
High personal standards
Motivated, enthusiastic and hard working, reflecting the culture of the rest of the team.
