Molecular Biologist - London
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Molecular Biologist to join a growing biotechnology company based in the London area. As an organisation they are committed to the development of innovative and cutting-edge diagnostic products that will revolutionise the healthcare industry. This is an opportunity for a Scientist to join a highly technical and multidisciplinary team, within a company who are entering a very exciting period of growth.
As a Molecular Biologist you will join a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the development of PCR-based point-of-care diagnostic applications for IVD product development. You will develop and integrate parts of a novel nucleic acid analysis platform. Key responsibilities will include:
-Developing molecular assays and reagents.
-Assessing and improving assay reagent formulations and procedures.
-Developing strategies for immobilising bio recognition and captures species onto surfaces.
-Technology development activities.
-Maintaining quality records and maintaining ISO 13485.
To be considered for this position you must be educated to a minimum of MSc / PhD level in a related subject. This academic background will be coupled with significant experience in molecular biology and PCR- including DNA extraction, nucleic acid immobilisation, solid-phase amplification, multiplex PCR and/or digital droplet PCR. Experience of in-vitro-diagnostic product development, or NGS workflows would be regarded but is not essential. You will have the drive and enthusiasm for innovation, and solving problems within a multi-disciplinary team.
