You will be working for...

A General Practitioner Surgery in Maidstone. All staff, receptionists, nurses and doctors work together as a team. We are here to provide an effective, efficient and holistic care to the practice population, relating each individual needs.

In this job you will be doing...

- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Filing and retrieving of paperwork
- Answering telephone, taking messages and transferring calls
- Booking & confirming appointments with GPs & Nurses on the telephone and in person
- Assisting in setting up electronic appointment schedules
- Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
- Checking and re-stocking of consulting rooms
- Scanning and e-filing patient documentation
- Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff which may include typing up of patient's referrals, e-referrals, insurance reports- non NHS based work
- Data entry and checking/auditing patient based data
- Dealing with external agencies (secondary care; district nurses; community care; council; insurance companies; public bodies etc.) on behalf of the Surgery and the Patients
- Minute taking at internal meetings
- Stock control of stationery and paper goods, as well as stock checks of medical items and equipment
- Updating patients' medical records as required

Your training will...

Start with a 12-14 month Business apprenticeship, which consists of 10 days of in-centre training in combination with work-based assessment, covering: IT skills, Customer service, Administration and Complaints handling.

You will gain a City & Guilds Level 3 in Business & Administration. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning GBP25k in a business role.

- Someone with ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English
