Marketing Database Analyst (11 Month Fixed Term Contract) (MKT0268)

The Team

Working in the Supporter Insight and Analysis team we support Oxfam's fundraising, trading and campaigns teams to provide reporting on activity, understand who our supporters are, identify trends and provide insight and understanding to support and influence strategic decisions.

The Role

As a Marketing Database Analyst, you'll be working with Marketing Communications Staff to deliver reporting and analysis on marketing performance. You'll be building reports to allow users to monitor the effectiveness of their campaigns, you'll be maintaining and producing automated reports to allow users to report on results self-sufficiently, you'll be supporting decision making by providing answers to questions on supporter behaviour and activities, you'll be analysing activity on the Oxfam website and you'll be helping Marketing Communications understand who their supporters are and how we can engage with them more effectively and helping to improve performance through producing and interpreting analysis.

What are we looking for

- Appreciation of database structures and querying.
- Ability to work in an organised way
- Experience of working with website analysis tools (for example Omniture or Google Analytics)
- Understanding of on-line tagging and implementation
- Self-organising/time management.
- A high standard of computer literacy and the ability to learn new software packages.
- A high level of numeracy and understanding of basic business statistics
- Ability to plan own time, manage multiple projects, and agree and meet deadlines.
- Takes responsibility for and completes standard tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good communication, written and verbal skills to enable understanding of complex technical information to non-technical staff
- Ability to use initiative to solve problems.

Desirable

- A knowledge of database marketing and direct marketing techniques and terminology
- Technical ability and experience in the use of data mining and analytic tools such as SAS, SPSS etc..
- Knowledge of relational database structures and database querying languages (SQL)
