Our client are a prestigious company that specialises in the manufacture and design of hardware imaging spacecraft systems. They are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to help support their development of fleet imaging spacecraft.
Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Guildford
contract length: 6 months initially
Hourly rate: GBP40-43 per hour LTD
Our client will also consider a permanent candidate, paying up to GBP35k
This is a new role for a proven Hardware Design Engineer to join an expanding technology company based in the South East. The company is involved with the design, development and manufacture of satellite systems for defence, commercial, communications and research applications.
They require a Hardware Designer with a strong aptitude for Design, implementation and verification of FPGA's in VHDL. You will be responsible for the delivery of Imager hardware to fleet of Imaging Spacecraft which Includes supporting the Design and Test of hardware, VHDL and Electronic Ground Support Equipment.
Key Tasks
?? Design, implementation and verification of FPGA's in VHDL
?? High Speed Digital Hardware Design
?? Schematic capture board level design.
?? Hardware Debugging and board bring up
?? Responsible for Manufacture, Test and Delivery of Existing Hardware Designs
?? Generation of appropriate design documentation.
Work closely in a core project team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience
?? Several years experience of digital board level design.
?? VHDL with CMOS Image Sensors highly desirable but not essential
?? Mixed Signal Design
?? Experience of system level debug and test
Knowledge & Skills?? Knowledge of FPGA design in VHDL.
?? Knowledge of Lab Test Equipment
?? Excellent communication skills
?? Commitment to deliver to challenging schedules
?? Good inter-personal skills
?? Organised approach
?? Good planning skills
