Category Buyer required. Our client is a leading packaging specialist who is now seeking a new Category Buyer to join their growing team. The successful Category Buyer will have previous relevant experience and be based in and around the Birmingham area.
The ideal Buyer will work as part of a larger purchasing team and will monitor and adjust inventory levels whilst ensuring a high level of product availability. The Category Buyer will also build relations with suppliers and identify/implement cost savings where possible.
Category Buyer Position Overview
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels.
- Ensure high level of product availability
- Build strong relationships with suppliers from Far East.
- Identify viability of potential suppliers of new and existing products.
- Identify and implement cost savings.
- Develop new products lines
Category Buyer Position Requirements
- Min 4 years + procurement /buying experience
- Experience with Far East suppliers (would be advantageous)
- Strong Excel skills, previous inventory control experience is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills, ability and develop long term relationships with suppliers
- CIPS (would be a distinct advantage)
Category Buyer Position Remuneration
- Salary GBP28-30K (dependent upon experience)
- 28 days' holiday (including bank holidays)
- Company Pension
