Cisco UCS SME
Job Purpose
UCS SME play a critical role in ensuring that UCS infrastructure is built, ran and maintained as per the project requirements UCS SME form an integral part of any modern Data Center Architecture and Build and Support teams.
Responsibilities
*Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Vmware, Hyper V), Cisco UCS, and Storage platform.
*Understanding of Nexus Products like Nexus 1000v, Nexus2k, Nexus5k, Nexus7K), MDS Switches.
*Strong knowledge in Networking technologies such as TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, port channel, trunking, VPC etc.
*Strong knowledge in Fibre Channel, FCoE
*Upgrade Cisco UCS Infrastructure Firmware , blade firmware and rack servers firmware .
*Updates Drivers on Windows, Linux and ESXi servers.
*Manage both Cisco UCS B-series blades and C -Series rack mount servers.
*Create and Manage Cisco UCS Service Profile
*Create and Manage Cisco UCS Identity Pools such as UUID, WWNN, WWPN etc.
*Build and manage bare metal workloads.
*Configure and deploy new UCS Domains.
*Participate in UCS infrastructure Design and implementation.
*Knowledge to design High availability workloads on UCS and virtualization platforms
*Knowledge on VMware, Cisco UCS Manager, Virtual Center plug-in and Add-ons
*Knowledge of Enterprise-class Virtual Infrastructure and Compute Platform
Technical Skills
Knowledge of Networking technologies, Knowledge of Storage technologies such as Fiber Channel, FCoE, iSCSI, knowledge and good understanding Cisco UCS B-series architecture, knowledge and understanding Cisco UCS C-series architecture,
Other Skills
Good understanding of X86 hardware architecture.
Good working knowledge of Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux and Esxi.
Good understanding of networking technologies such TCP/IP, VLAN, VPC,
Good understanding of Storage technologies such Fiber channel, FCoE, iSCSI.
Excellent communication skills in English - both verbal and written.
Candidate should possess excellent learning ability and take up challenges. Be a good team player.
Good comprehension skills- Ability to clearly understand and state the issues customers present.
Interest to develop documentation using tools like Microsoft office
