The School

A University Technical College, providing technically orientated courses for 14-19 year olds. A fairly new school, that has recently undergone a change in the senior leadership structure. It has been commented on by Ofsted that the changes are vastly improved.

Located on the border of Hertfordshire, the closest station is Elstree & Borehamwood railway, which is a short bus journey from the school.

The Role

The Science department is looking to appoint either an experienced teacher or an NQT to join the team. They would ideally be a specialist in Chemistry, with a view to start immediately, teaching key stage 3 to key stage 5. The Head of Science has a Biology specialism and the team is fairly small, with one other teacher and a Science Technician. This role calls for a teacher to be enthusiastic and motivational, to ensure that students are fully engaged at all times, and to improve attainment.

It is essential that you have good classroom and behaviour management and that you are a confident teacher. You must be able to build rapport with both students and staff quickly, and be committed to the efforts of the school in improving the outcome for students.

How to Apply

If you are interested in the role and have the relevant qualifications including PGCE and QTS, as well as experience working in a secondary school, then I want to hear from you. Please send your updated CV to ************************************** or call ************* for further information about the role.
