To apply you MUST have a recognised Supply Chain/Logistics qualification and a minimum of 2 years' experience in Supply Chain Management as well as strong leadership skills.
Effectively monitor and manage the logistic activities: ensuring that inventory levels are optimised, KPI targets are met, forecasting and provision of reagents (with total accuracy and timely), whilst ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained through good communication, excellent account management and timely deliveries.
Management of all logistics staff: through leadership, coaching and appraisal.
The position will add value to Logistics by maintaining customer relationships, customer satisfaction, market leading logistics services and continual improvement. Optimisation of inventory through close monitoring and control is also necessary to maintain.As Logistics Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to your team, playing a key role in promoting a high performance culture where processes are optimised and the sharing of best practice encouraged. At all times you will support your team to ensure they are focused, engaged and striving to the highest of standards to fully achieve their potential.
Control your departmental budget, accounting for all costs to ensure variances are managed. With this in mind we'll be looking for you to actively seek opportunities to simplify and streamline all work tasks to remove duplication and non-value adding activities.
Work with the Logistics Team Leaders to ensure all inbound/outbound products are processed accurately, securely and within agreed service levels.
You'll be liaising with our main suppliers as part of European supply chain management when required, to ensure consistent delivery and forecasting is maintained to minimise costs, inventory control and to ensure we can meet current and changing customer needs. Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Working internally with the supply chain and customer services team to ensure products are delivered on time to our customers. In the event of customer complaints be instrumental in leading the identification of the root cause and resulting preventive and corrective action and a direct liaison with the customer.
As a Logistics Manager you will oversee inbound/outbound freight, warehouse management and recycling/scrap in line with agreed policy, process and service level agreement. Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, negotiation or performance evaluation.
Establish and monitor supply chain based performance measurement systems, maintain metrics, reports, process documentation and use system to proactively improve performance in terms of decision making and organisation performance
Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as sales, order management, accounting, and product.
Ensure Customer satisfaction - accurate on time deliveries of daily and standing orders. Ensuring a professional service is provided through the Customer Service team in guaranteeing on time and in full orders, batch-hold management, and offering a flexible and accurate service.
Inventory Management - ensure monthly stock counts are performed on time every time and that adjustments are maintained to within set KPI targets. Manage customer batch holds to ensure an optimum balance between stock levels and demand is achieved. Manage Quality Control stocks closely to avoid excessive write off and keep within set KPI target

Safety in the workplace is always high on our agenda and in your role as Logistics Manager you'll play a key role in promoting and managing a safe working environment, ensuring equipment is in good working order and maintenance plans are in place. In order to maximise safety, you will take the lead to ensure appropriate handling, management and storage of materials at all times.
Performance Management - ensuring monitoring, measurement and recording of performance against objectives, and goals, regular team reviews and feedback. Timely and effective appraisal through the appraisal system. Monitoring and managing behaviour and attitude.
Ensure compliance with company, ISO standards, external bodies, legal, OHAS and environmental requirements. Comply with ISO-14001/ISO-9001/ISO27001 standards and requirements.
Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
Implement or monitor carbon or environmental management, accounting, or audit systems. Develop plans or set goals to reduce carbon emissions associated with storage or transport activities.
Main Competencies
* Significant experience in Logistics management with a supply chain qualification.
* With a proven track record of people management and experience within a similar role, experience of logistics planning, scheduling and space management. Bringing a good understanding of best practice processes within supply chain and have a good eye for detail. Comfortable managing a budget and with a strong customer focus in your mind at all times, and able to easily build sustained relationships.
* Have a proven track record in achievement and delivering change.
* Possess strong influencing skills at Senior Manager Level.
* Have excellent ability to analyse quickly, dismissing distracting factors to determine issues/opportunities and define solutions.
* As a Logistics Manager you will be someone that is focused on continuous improvement and can implement new processes and better ways of working.
* Smart management of time and priority setting, goals and standard setting.
