New opportunity not to be missed! Speedy Freight has an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Planner to join the team based in Knutsford. The successful candidate will join our extremely busy traffic office on a full time permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of GBP25,000 - GBP28,000 DOE.
Speedy Freight is a 24hr, Sameday Courier and Express Freight Service provider, supplying cars, vans and trucks to undertake; Urgent, Delicate, Fragile, Heavy, Time Sensitive, High Value, Abnormal and Difficult to Handle Loads for commercial and domestic customers throughout the UK and Europe.
The Traffic Planner will develop effective transport plans and control resources ensuring customer and business requirements are achieved while complying with legal responsibilities. As our Traffic Planner, you will also manage the sourcing and booking of vehicles in line with company procedures.
The Traffic Planner candidate must have the following skills and experience:
- Full Driving Licence.
- IT Literate including Microsoft, word, excel and outlook
- Written, oral English and Mathematics to GCSE standard
- Significant experience (minimum of 3 years) with the transport sector in planning within the UK
- Awareness of the UK van market
- Ability to build a portfolio of subcontracted drivers
- Professional and confident manner
- Excellent Communicator
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work within a team and under own initiative
- Good organisational skills
