Supply Chain Manager (Food)

Located: West Midlands

Salary GBP45k to GBP55k with Car Allowance

The company is a family run business who has specialised in the FMCG industry for nearly 30 years. They started as a small business and now employ circa to 200 people. The business are now a UK leader in their products and are highly respected throughout the industry.

Overview:

Reporting to the Operations Director, the role of Supply Chain Manager will be lead the Logistics, Planning and Business Support personnel. The teams consist of 12 direct reports.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure strong relationships are developed with customers allowing access to the best forecasting information possible - this in conjunction with the efforts of the Business Unit Managers
- Help develop a business culture that recognises good forecasting as critical in maintaining high standards of customer service whilst controlling stock levels
- Disseminate forecast information quickly and clearly to suppliers and internal customers
- Take full responsibility for managing the logistics/stock levels of the Business
- Maintain accurate costing information on the in house Supply Chain system, therefore supporting accurate management reporting
- Develop and work with KPIs
- Plan production to ensure product capacity is available to react to spikes in demand outside of the forecasted requirements of the month
- Ensure suppliers receive commitment in the form of Purchase Orders, from the Planning team.
- Proactively build relationships with suppliers to ensure the service, quality and price required to meet the Company's objectives.
- Establish Supply Agreements and SLA's with suppliers to secure the best trading terms and performance possible in liaison with the Company's Financial Controller
- Work with the Finance and planning teams to monitor the financial stability of suppliers and minimise risk of supply disruption during peak trading periods
- Manage Planner, Logistics and Business Support teams

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Supply Chain Manager role
- Background in Food/FMCG preferred but other industry backgrounds will be considered.
- Hold relevant qualifications in Purchasing - MCIPS
- Previous experience of managing and scaling a team
- In-depth experience of end to end supply chain and practice, including tendering, terms and conditions, contract development, management and negotiation
- Excellent forecasting skills
- Have experience in establishing supplier agreements/SLA's
- Production Planning experience
- Excellent data and report writing skills
