Workplace description: Situated on the crescent of Craignure Bay, this hotel has stunning views over to Morvern and the west coast. The main ferry terminal is just a few hundred yards away, with a shoreline path leading to the hotel. Most of the rooms at hotel have views of the scenic surroundings.

Main duties and responsibilities: You will be required to work at the highest standard to achieve and delivery excellent customer service. You should be organised and motivated and able to work without supervision as well as part of the team. This is a demanding role and we are looking for someone who has a pleasant friendly, yet professional manner, who has an eye for detail and takes pride in their work.

Duties include:

- Front desk check in and check out procedures
- Meet and greet all customers in a friendly and timely manner both in person and on the telephone.
- Processing daily monetary transactions and accounts accurately and efficiently, prepare bills and take payments.
- Promptly action all guest messages and requests
- Use of 5 star booking system to create, update and amend guest reservations. Processing advance deposits and payments as required.
- Maximise all opportunities to upsell the facilities within the Hotel and Spa and Leisure.
- Complete end of shift cash ups and reconciliation procedures and ensure handover of shifts in line with company policy
- To adhere to all areas of the SOP for reception and front office as well as the appropriate sections of the Finance SOP.
- To be familiar with the day's business arrivals, departures, functions, VIPs, special requests etc. and inform other departments as required.
- Daily web and third party site checks.
- Daily Health & Safety daily updates.
- Dealing with guest special requests when and where possible.
- Handing customer feedback or complaints up to the level of authority
- Having good local knowledge in order to assist customers.
- To ensure the smooth running of the reception desk at all times including keeping clean and tidy.

Essential criteria:

- Previous experience in a hotel reception environment, although training will be given in the hotels systems and SOP's.
- Fluent command of English both spoken and written.
- Clean and confident telephone manner.
- Confident in using hotel reservation systems.
- Competent in using computers, word, excel, e mails etc.
- The ability to prioritise duties
- Remain calm, patient and police if receiving customer feedback.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
- Able to demonstrate a passionate commitment to the business and guests.
- A confident and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills and able to multitask
- Ability to remain calm and professional with a positive attitude in a fast paced environment
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Good computer skills

Charge for accommodation: 42.00 GBP per week
