Our client is a specialist housing association providing mainly large family accommodation for the diverse minority ethnic communities.

The purpose of the is to support the Interim Chief Executive, service the Board and Committee meetings to ensure that they receive the support on compliance, internal standing orders and policies and procedures around governance

1. To ensure the effective servicing of the Board, Committees and associated meetings. This will include planning the meetings, preparing agenda, collating papers and ensuring their timely distribution, attending meetings, preparing and typing up of minutes and following up the action plan.

2. To monitor follow up actions after the meetings with a rolling agenda.

3. To maintain Board / Audit committee records

4. To organise the calendar of the Interim Chief Executive / Board / Committee meetings and provide administration relating to this.

5. To organise annual and extraordinary general meetings.

6. Assist the Interim Chief Executive and Company Secretary in ensuring that decisions are properly acted upon.

7. To act as the first point of contact for the Board in all matters relating to governance and company secretary work

8. To develop and maintain good relations and contact with the Executive Team and managers who provide reports to the Board and Committees

9. Ensure that the proceedings at meetings comply with the rules and standing orders of the Association.

10. Maintain up to date knowledge on issues relating to Governance, the regulatory framework and environment.

Experience Required

The post holder must have 2 years previous experience of undertaking a similar role of servicing committee meetings, together with experience of dealing with regulatory bodies and maintaining formal company records.

Excellent experience in complex minute taking

Experience of governance or at least a working knowledge of governance processes.

Experience of working with Board Members.

Excellent administration skills.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Experience of working within the social housing sector or another regulatory sector
