Our client is part of the world's second largest manufacturer and supplier of construction and mining equipment.
They are based on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne and established in 1985. The Company employs approximately 400 people who are engaged in the design and manufacture of medium-sized hydraulic excavators.
They are now looking for a Trainee Technical Publications Author / Marketing Assistant to join the Design Team. The successful candidate will follow a structured training and development programme to learn to create and maintain sales and service material, including the creation of images, spare parts lists and written materials. This will include production operation manuals, shop manuals, parts books and recommended spare parts lists, all of which need to be created to a high standard and to tight deadlines in order to support machine sales. As part of this role, you will be required to liaise regularly with design teams and internal Departments.
They are looking for someone with excellent communication and problem solving skills, who has the ability to work to a high level of accuracy, and who can prioritise work to achieve tight deadlines. Candidates should be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering subject and have a good working knowledge of MS Office. An interest in learning specialist IT software packages is essential.
