Our client are a leading Bradford charity and they are currently looking to recruit a Service Manager to join their new team who assist with young unaccompanied Asylum Seekers. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with previous experience in a similar background.

The working hours are 35 hours per week with flexible shifts between the hours of 9:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday. You must be able to offer telephone support out of hours in an emergency. The starting salary for this position is GBP21,000k which will then be reviewed after 6 months probationary period.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Manage the housing related support service for unaccompanied asylum seekers aged 16 - 17 in a supported housing setting. You will be responsible for the effective management of operational services and ensure that a high quality of service is delivered to vulnerable young clients. Create a safe and secure environment that protects service users and encourages them to access housing related support (HRS) in order to become 'tenancy ready'.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY'S:

- To oversee the effective delivery of front-line services
- Provide a strong commitment to staff development and continuous improvements
- Ensure that service users are aware of contacting our duty support desk out of hours including weekends to deal with any crisis/emergency
- During staff absences, you will be expected to cover for day staff and ensure housing related support is delivered in line with contracts
- Chair regular staff meetings and other internal or external meetings as required e.g. scheme meetings, quarterly training & development days and conferences
- Work and Liaise closely with teams who place young people in the accommodation - to ensure that service users are assessed and that relevant support plans and risk assessments are drawn up through a variety of needs assessment tools
- Work with Supported Housing Officers to ensure that resettlement and re-housing work is carried out and that move-on is offered as part of a planned and structured programme.
- To prepare staff rotas in order to deploy resources in a fair and consistent manner
- To ensure that new staff are supported, guided and managed effectively through their induction programme and probationary periods
