The Client
Acorn is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Part-time Accounts Administrator to join their close knit team. You will be responsible for an array of duties including accounts, payroll, annual books, and general administration and coordinating events. The role is working Monday to Friday 9 - 12:30 pm.
The Role
You will be responsible for the following duties:
* To coordinate organisation of business events and activities
* To maintain and manage accounts
* To manage book-keeping
* To administer the payroll for small team (4 people)
* To raise cheques and make payments for goods and services, including expenses.
* To maintain financial records in accordance with developing financial policy and practice
* To participate in the development of that policy
* To prepare annual accounts for independent examination and approval
* To create annual budgets for PCC and Chapter accounts
* To prepare bi-monthly reviews of income and expenditure to present to PCC and Chapter
* To be the Cathedral's interface with enquirers and external agencies
* To monitor and respond to incoming emails, mail and telephone calls
* To order goods and services, as required
* To liaise with contractors and suppliers of goods and services, as required
The Candidate
* Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Church in Wales
* Proven experience of general office administration, event and diary management
* Proven experience of financial administration, budget presentation, etc.
* Efficient record-keeping and minute-taking
* A team player who can work independently and show initiative.
* IT skills including online account management and book-keeping
* Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
* Total confidentiality
* Excellent interpersonal skills able to relate well to multiple stakeholders and a demanding public
* Ability to manage the challenges of a complex and largely voluntary organisationn; many of whose members see themselves as not accountable
Benefits:
* Monday to Friday working hours (9am - 12:30 pm - 17.5 hours a week)
* 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

* Paying a basic salary of GBP12,000 a year.
* 10% pension contribution from the employer.
