Purpose
To facilitate the smooth introduction of new products and business, ensuring that they are adequately planned resourced and implemented.
New Products Introduction (NPI) Manager
Responsibilities
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of manufacturing introduction plans, encompassing all areas of NPI
- Ensure that departmental plans are in place that encompasses adequate processes, procedures, tools, equipment and labour to meet with the overall NPI plan and customer expectations/requirements
- Attend and co-ordinate all project review meetings. Project Leader / Sponsor will lead the meetings
- To provide regular reports to the Project team and senior team as required regarding project progress
- Prepare and monitor cost models for each project including capital, start-up costs and recurring product costs
- Ensure that any new investment is planned, justified, procured and installed in line with Company policies
- Maintain continuous improvement systems within the NPI teams, improving efficiency and process control, in areas of the quality, profitability and delivery performance of the products
- To be the main interface with customers and all internal stakeholders
- Maintain both the customers and my clients' quality requirements at all stages of the implementation plan
- Ensure that work instructions have been updated based on lessons learned throughout the process to drive continuous improvement
- Adopt and utilise Process FMEA for all projects, analyse, record and mitigate all associated risks to the programme. Tools - FMEA / Risk Register
- Ensure FAIR process is completed by coordinating all elements of the qualification package
- Organise and lead the hand over process to operations once the NPI process has been completed
- Ensure all project documentation is retained in the designated directory
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholder's capability, consistent with the terms and conditions of employment

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required
- Minimum of an ONC in an engineering discipline is preferred, substantial experience and knowledge of engineering production methods is essential.
- Excellent project management and administration skills.
- Commercial and business acumen and the ability to motivate and empower the workforce.
- Previous experience in an engineering environment ideally within the Aerospace and/or Rail sector.
