My client is looking for an Interim Assistant Warehouse Manager.They will be responsible for overseeing the day to day warehouse is run effectively and efficiently whilst ensuring all warehouse personnel adhere to Company policies and compliancy requirements.

Supportive and flexible in assisting the Warehouse Manager with reasonable operational related tasks and projects as well as deputising in the Warehouse Managers absence.

Description

- Responsible for overseeing the Day to Day operation.
- Complete Performance reviews.
- Ensuring the warehouse operation is running effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and that all CAA, HMRC, TAPA, ISO and Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Managing and updating of Training records, ensuring all operatives have valid training.
- Manage time keeping, controlling overtime, sickness, holidays using Kronos (Time & Attendance software)
- Improving Quality ensuring 5s is maintained and Damage is closely monitored.
- Implementing and updating Standard Operational Procedures.
- Provide daily briefings to Supervisors and ensure Supervisors also deliver daily Performance.
- Deputise for Warehouse Operations Manager as required, during specific periods of the week and during other absences.
- Manage and direct Inbound/Outbound operations; direct, lead and revise the Implementation of Contingency plans.
- Ensure awareness of policies and rules, maintain commitment on Quality and Environmental systems, identify and promote continuous improvements aligning with Company strategies on quality and environment.
- Assist and support both Internal and External audits.
- Flexible In assisting Warehouse Manager with reasonable operational related tasks/projects etc, etc.

Profile

- Basic standard of education - up to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Proven background in operational management within freight forwarding Industry (air, Ocean)
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of Excel, Word. Preferred but not essential AS400, Lotus Notes and ASM Sequoia.
- Good communication and motivational skills, with the approach to delegate and be able to lead by example and make decisions using sound judgement.
- Knowledge of both warehouse and Logistics practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Be able to work accurately with good attention to detail.
- Excellent strategic, analytical and negotiation skills & the ability to plan, execute and complete a given task within a specified timeframe.
- Self Initiative.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Understand requirements and operational procedures and be able to Identify areas that require Improvement/change/update.
- Good organisation skills and ability to oversee others.
- Problem solving and Leadership skills.

Job Offer

My client is offering GBP120-GBP130 per day for a period of approximately 3 months
