The Operations Regulatory Control team is responsible for compliance with Client Asset Sourcebook (CASS) and Client Money and Asset Return (CMAR) to external regulators across a diverse range of Barclays Wealth business segments and all Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) jurisdictions.
Role Purpose
- This role is to be a part of the Audit and Issues Management team which is responsible for collating and accurately reflecting the issues and breaches reported across all the Barclays UK and Barclays International entities including those raised by various third party administrators and driving them to closure.
- The team is also responsible to facilitate and manage external CASS audits and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- As a part of the Audit and Issues Management team you will be managing and maintaining the issues and breach log. The team has responsibility to ensure all the breaches and issues identified are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
- The efficient and accurate maintenance of the log is an essential function of the team as they form the basis of FCA breach reporting. These logs are the basis of the annual CASS audit as well and are an important basis of internal and external stakeholder updates.
- The role shall also include active management of open issues and tracking and driving them to closure.
- You will drive forward continuous process improvements and control enhancements, contributing to the overall success of the team and ensure that accuracy and efficiency are the core of the team
- As a part of the team you are responsible to liaise with various stakeholders to obtain necessary information and timely response as a part of the CASS Audit, schedule and attend regular sign -off meetings with Barclays Compliance, provide necessary MI and updates to Senior Stakeholders as required.
- Professional/Technical Experience - The candidate will have knowledge of FCA regulations and the regulatory environment, in a client money or operational risk role. You will be able to demonstrate a well developed understanding of regulatory processes and the concept of risk management and control.
- The candidate should have good technical knowledge, underpinned by sound problem solving and analytical skills. A background in regulatory or financial reporting would be advantageous. Operational experience/knowledge would also be desirable.
- Audit experience - It would be desirable if the candidate has prior audit, quality assurance or project management experience.
- Academic and Professional Qualifications - The candidate should ideally hold Industry recognised qualifications, within the securities industry.
- Communication Skills - Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other impacted areas and coordinate for timely resolution of issues. The candidate must be able to write or contribute to succinct management reports.
