Field Service Engineer
Our client, a worldwide supplier and leading manufacturer of materials handling equipment, are looking for an enthusiastic electrically biased service technician to join their thriving, growing business. They are a growing SME with excellent prospects and training available as they very much believe in investing into their people. The role is varied and you will be working on a mix of electro-mechanical machinery.
You will carry out PPM, recommendations and machine maintenance in accordance with their customer requirements.
Requirements to apply for the Field Service Engineer opportunity:
- Experience in a Field Service role with excellent communication skills
- Minimum 5 - 7 yrs of engineering experience in a similar operation in parcel handling or FMCG/manufacturing.
- Time served electrically or mechanically, City and Guilds or equivalent recognised apprenticeship, HNC or HND as a preference
- Experience working with inverter drives, SCADA control, profibus, Asi, PC / PLC control would be advantageous.
- Electrical fault finding
- Flexibility with travelling
- Ideally experience with materials handling equipment
Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:
- Undertake all aspects planned preventative maintenance and suggest improvements.
- Complete plant service rota efficiently.
- Maintain the safety and well-being of self and others, in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
- Responsible for mechanical and electrical fault finding.
- Responsible for electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Liaise with engineering personnel to actively support innovation and improvements.
- Ensure effective, timely incident / accident reporting. Learn from incidents and develop strategies which prevent the same thing from happening again
- Ensure effective time management / prioritisation of workload
